TEE BALL

Tee Ball - League Ages 4-6 (Must be 4 years old by August 31st)
Tee Ball is a non-competitive, instructional league designed to provide first time players the opportunity to learn, develop and practice the fundamental baseball skills. Players hit off of a tee and everyone bats and plays the field. Outs and runs are not counted at this level. The focus is on learning basic playing skills and baseball terminology. The parents have the discretion to choose whether their 6 year old plays Tee Ball or Single-A, but it is recommended that 5 year olds who have not played Tee Ball begin in this division before moving up to Single-A.

BASEBALL

In 1939 Carl Stotz saw that there was a gap when it came to youth sports; there was no organized youth baseball league for pre-teens.  So, with the help of George and Bert Bebble they organized what would become the first three teams in Little League: Lycoming Dairy, Lundy Lumber, and Jumbo Pretzel.  Now, 85 years later, Little League Baseball and Softball is played in over 80 countries by over 2.6 million children and Elgin National Little League is proud to be a part of the tradition.

BASEBALL DIVISIONS

  • Single-A - League Ages 5-7
The Instructional division utilizes both coach-pitch and hitting off a tee.  It is non-competitive and instructional, and provides players with the opportunity to continue learning fundamental baseball skills. • Minor AA - League Ages 7-9
    • The Minor League plays under Little League rules with some local adapted rules to balance fairness and competitiveness. Strikeouts are introduced and scores are kept.  Any player who is league age 7 or has played 1 year in the Single-A baseball program is eligible to participate. Players age 6 or 7 that are new to baseball can consider the Single-A baseball league instead. Team placement is determined by player evaluation and draft.
